American Thinker Blog: Germany surrenders on Solar Power
Spreading the word, one reader at a time.
With the likes of Al Gore misguiding government, is it any wonder that we are in a prolonged economic decline?
Top Five Reasons Obama Must Go in 2012
Humor dulls the pain and Stella Paul demonstrates that with this writing from her article today in the AmericanThinker.com.
The Top 5 Reasons Obama Must Be Removed as Commander-in-Chief
The way things are going, most patriotic Americans will soon be six feet under, felled by apoplectic strokes brought on by reading the latest outrage committed by our “Commander in Chief.” He may not have a limit to what hell inflict; but our collective blood pressure may have a limit to what we can bear.

Happy Birthday to my Sister!
My last act on the Internet today …
I’m sure she’d rather be here any day, any time.

Speaking Hyperbolically …
The other day I decided to replace the batteries in my Antenna DVR’s remote. I had to call the Fire Department to get he battery compartment opened. Good grief!

Time Warner Cable Should Win This One
But if the judge agrees with Viacom, then TWC says the Cablevision deal (as well as others such as a licensing arrangement with DISH Network) constitutes a breach of several agreements, including the “Suite Services Agreement” (MTV, VH1, MTV2, VH1 Classic…), the “Core Services Agreement,” and the “Comedy Agreement” (Comedy Central). TWC says it would be entitled to terminate those agreements or demand identical Internet distribution rights.
Will Time Warner Win? They should, unless the judge suffers from a total lack of logic. There’s a lot of that going around these days.
Herman Cain, the Sunshine Man
One thing, among many, that I’ve noticed about Herman Cain is that he wears yellow quite often; yellow ties, yellow-gold ties, yellow sweater vests, etc. I think I’ve taken notice of this not just because I like him but because it is my favorite color and I’d be willing to bet it might be his, too.
Yellow, a color that is light and uplifting in its hue – just like Mr. Cain! And don’t we all need a little uplifting right now? He offers a common sense approach and has the capability of making us feel better about ourselves and our country….sound like someone else we all remember fondly?
Keep wearing yellow, Mr. Cain – it suits you well.
The Difference Between Life and Death
The incident quoted below reminds me of the day my mother died.
It was one of the worst days of my life. My sister phoned one afternoon to tell me she was unable to contact Mother and to ask whether I could check on her. I found Mom on her bathroom floor. She died later that evening in the hospital without ever having come back to a conscious state. The life simply drained out of her slowly and we were left with no chance to understand what happened. We have never determined how long she laid on that floor dying. The feeling of helplessness has no measurable dimension. Did Mom’s life have to end that way? Read more…
Steve Jobs’s Best Quotes – Digits – WSJ
This is a great piece in the Wall Street Journal. I’m glad they updated and reprinted it. Jobs’ remarks on design will help you understand why Apple has such a dedicated following.
Steve Jobs, one of the fathers of the personal computing era and the founder of Apple, died Wednesday at the age of 56. Although he will be remembered for ushering in fundamental changes in the way people interact with technology, he has also been known for his ability to turn a phrase – and a knack for taking complicated ideas and making them easy to understand. Below, a compendium of some of the best Steve Jobs quotes.

Steve Jobs death announced today, less than an hour ago.

And now the frenzy begins. Running this story in reverse it’s suddenly clear why Apple didn’t introduce the iPhone 5 this week. It would have been lost in the news of Jobs’s death, killing the marketing value he would have loved. I’m sure the phone will appear in a week or two with that appearance in part to encourage the recovery of Apple shares from what is sure to be a short-term decline.

Sen. Rubio: ‘I’m not going to be the vice presidential nominee’ in 2012 – The Hill’s Ballot Box
I don’t crave it. I wanted to be a United States senator. I didn’t run for the Senate as an opportunity to have a launching pad for some other job.

Oh well. He’s probably doing the right thing just as Chris Christie did, and for the right reasons. We have to accept his honesty on the matter, but we also have to moan and groan a little. Here is one guy who has a very clear and educated sense of how poorly this country is being run right now. So we wait. First, we need a solid, conservative candidate for the top ob, then we’ll get the list of draftees for VP. More waiting. (And where is Sarah Palin?)
