Army Hero’s Grave Site Turned Into Dog Park – Ventura, CA

August 17, 2010

“We are treating him pretty darn well, except for the poop,” parks and recreation commissioner Sharon Troll told the Ventura County Star.

The above statement is just plain insulting. At least the area residents who use the park with their dogs are generally more respectful of a soldier who received the Medal of Honor in 1870.

It’s probably been done already, but I’m going to try to find someone in the V.A. who might be able to help move Craig Donor’s project along, that of getting James Sumner’s remains moved to Bakersfield National Cemetery.

Here’s hoping I can update this post with some good news in the near future.
